This is a blog about my personal experiences as I grow and learn. I am a 40 something mom who was recently diagnosed with PTSD, ADHD, and Autism level 1. I am a domestic abuse survivor that has migraines, panic attacks, and fibromyalgia since my early 20s. I always thought there was something wrong with me, that I was too much, a horrible person, and was never good enough. I wanted a career, to be with my soulmate, and to have a family so I pushed myself despite my health issues and smaller capacity/spoons. I minimized my feelings and criticized myself excessively. As I found help for myself and my children, I learned that I am not bad- I am trying and that is what really matters. The things that I feel and see are valid- I am just neurodivergent….Now how tf do I unpack, accept, and accommodate myself?!? My gut instinct as a mom is to just focus on my kids, but just like those masks on the airplane, you have to help yourself before you can help others. Yes, it sucks, but I love my kids so much and they are worth it. So I am building an airplane while I fly it.
Everyone’s experiences and journey will be unique. My only hope is that this helps and encourages other’s to always be and love themselves.
